The products
What pastila actually is, what goes into a bar, and how long a pack keeps.
What is pastila?
Pastila is a traditional baked-apple confection. Apples are baked, puréed, whipped with egg white, spread in thin layers and slowly dried until they set into a soft, airy loaf. Our bars, meringues and desserts are all made from that same base.
What is in an Apple Bar?
Baked apples (99%) and egg white. The Berry Mix adds blackcurrants, cranberries, lingonberries and blueberries. That is the whole list. No sugar is added, there is no flour, and the bar is gluten free.
How long does it keep and how should I store it?
It depends on the product, and the date on the pack is the one to trust. Apple Bars keep for 12 months in a cool, dry place at +8 to +21 °C. Apple meringues and the flourless apple cakes keep for 18 months: the meringues at +8 to +21 °C, the flourless apple cakes in a cool, dry place at +8 to +21 °C. The 50 g baked apple dessert keeps for 9 months at +8 to +10 °C, or 4 months at +10 to +25 °C; the 500 g carton keeps for 18 months at +8 to +25 °C.

Is there really no added sugar?
Yes, across the apple bars, meringues, baked apple desserts and flourless apple cakes. All the sweetness comes from the apples themselves: baking concentrates their natural sugars. So no sugar is added, but the food still contains the sugars that occur naturally in the fruit.
Is it gluten free?
The apple bars, meringues, 50 g baked apple desserts and flourless apple cakes are labelled gluten free, and none of them contains flour. Egg white is an ingredient in every product, so please take care if you have an egg allergy.
Is it suitable for vegetarians, vegans, kids?
Vegan: no, because every product contains egg white. For a vegetarian diet, the full ingredient list is on each product page: apples and egg white, with berries or cinnamon in some flavours. Kids: it is essentially baked apple in a snack-sized pack, which makes it an easy lunchbox sweet.
How many calories?
Per 100 g: 370 kcal for the Classic meringue, 360 kcal for the Berry Mix meringue, 276 kcal for the 50 g baked apple dessert and 320 kcal for the flourless apple cake. For everything else, the label on the pack is the one to trust.
Egg white is a core ingredient in every product. If you have an egg allergy, please read the label before buying. Nutrition figures appear only where the pack declares them, and the pack in your hand is the final word.
03 · Orders
Orders, shipping & returns
Where we ship, how you pay, and what happens if a parcel arrives dented.
Where do you ship?
Across Europe. In Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia we deliver to Omniva parcel lockers for €3.90; elsewhere in Europe we deliver by courier, and its price will be shown at checkout once it is set. Until then, if you are ordering from outside the Baltics, write to us before you order. Orders over €20 ship free. Parcels leave Riga within 1–2 business days. There is no pickup.
How do I pay?
Payments go through Paysera. Until online payment is switched on in the shop, you place an order request at checkout and we confirm it by e-mail with a secure payment link within one business day.
Can I return something?
Yes: unopened, sealed goods can be returned within 14 days of delivery, and the return shipping is yours to pay. Write to us first with your order reference; returns go to Pildas iela 10, Rīga, LV-1035. If something arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, we replace it, or refund it if you ask.

In Latvia you will find us at Maxima and on Barbora. We are also in selected stores in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Austria and Bulgaria — see the Where to buy page.
